This Sunday (4 May), 3-6pm: Champagne Shuffle. This is an American tournament (i.e. mixing around, playing several rounds with different partners) with liberal helpings of sparkling wine between and during matches for an entertaining twist. £7.50 entry includes plenty of drinking and a mid-afternoon tea of sandwiches and cake. All standards very much welcome. There will be a trip to the Crown and Greyhound quiz afterwards too. The day after is a Bank Holiday of course (with club play from 2.30pm). No need to ‘sign up’ for the Shuffle, just come along on the day.
Saturday 24 May: Handicap Tournament Finals Day. Some close matches and exciting finishes almost guaranteed, with food afterwards.
