DRAW 2013 – Sunday 19 May 6pm
Every year Camber receives an allocation of tickets for Wimbledon fortnight. These are passed on to members via a fair and open ballot. Please read the information below carefully as it’s quite complicated.
The draw will be at 6pm on Sunday 19 May. If you can’t be here for the draw then leave a blank cheque at the ‘clubhouse’ beforehand. Please write your name and address on the back of the cheque. If you get tickets in the draw then I will post them to you so I need your address. No money = no tickets. No exceptions!
All members who are signed up members of British Tennis and who have paid their subs can enter the draw – full, midweek and juniors over the age of 9. I will put the sheet up on the noticeboard on Sunday.
This year we have 18 pairs – see below for details. We also have 16 individual tickets for the last Saturday 6 July on Court 1, the draw for which is separate to the paired tickets. Although the main action is on Centre Court on this day, in the past we’ve seen junior finals, veterans (which are great fun), doubles semis plus there is still a fair bit of tennis on the outside courts to watch. We bring picnics and meet on Henman Hill and it’s a generally a fun, sociable Camber outing.
You may sign up for as many days as you wish. However, in the interests of fairness, no member may win more than one pair of tickets. Therefore when signing up please state your first, second and third choice preferences. If these are not stated we will assume you are indifferent between days. Please only sign up for days you can actually attend. If you get tickets and nearer the time you cannot go, then they must be returned to the club and we will try and sell them for you to other members.
If you cannot get to the club before next Sunday and cannot make the draw then email me your preference and post your blank cheque to me – 38a Gabriel Street, LondonSE23 1DP
If you are unsure whether or not you are a British Tennis member then contact me (Liz) on 07817-965247 or lizsomerville@hotmail.com and I’ll check for you.
If you’re not a member there’s still time to sign up – just go to www.lta.org.uk/britishtennismembershipand make a note of your membership number. I will need this number if you’re successful in the draw.
Any questions/queries please contact me and remember in the case of any dispute the Committee’s decision is final.
So remember:
- You must be a signed up member of British Tennis
- You must have paid your subs
- You must pay for your tickets on Sunday 19th – in the past I have been flexible about this, but not this year. It’s a nightmare chasing money and I don’t have the time nor the inclination. If we have tickets left after the draw I will return them to the LTA
